Desfile Histórico Bicentenario "Independencia para Siempre"
Parade
More than 7,500 people, including musicians, actors and actresses, dancers, acrobats, circus performers, and technicians, participated in the spectacular Bicentennial Parade "Independence Forever," which took place this Saturday on Paseo Los Próceres as the culmination of the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of our Independence. The god Amalivaca (an 8-meter-high puppet walking along the Paseo), the Anaconda Lalikilpará, the 3D mapping on the monoliths, and the 300 couples dancing Joropo, accompanied by the music of Cristóbal Jiménez and Vidal Colmenares, were the highlights of the event. The eras represented at the event were as follows: the cosmogony of the indigenous people, the anti-colonial uprisings, the declaration of independence, the Federal War, the oil age and the imperialist block, Puntofijismo and its crisis, and the Bolivarian Revolution. The minister took the opportunity to remind that this significant event is part of the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of Venezuela's independence. The parade, which recreated various moments in Venezuela's history, concluded the celebrations for the Independence Bicentennial Month. The cultural event, which took place on Paseo Los Próceres in the capital, drew Venezuelans through 16 developmental phases of the nation, beginning with the time of the indigenous people. Through mobile stages, music, dance, tradition, and history mixed with the support of an unprecedented technological deployment.
